Great mix by Dj Premier tribute to Guru. Primo also explained that he went to the hospital to see Guru and that he was in a bad condition… I let you listen to it and to the people that will be in Paris on may 14th come with us celebrate Gangstarr & Guru’s music with Dj Premier, Just Blaze and Alchemist @ Elysée Montmartre.

Très bon mix en hommage à Guru par Dj Premier. Primo explique aussi qu’il est allé à l’hopital le voir et qu’il était dans de très mauvaises conditions (en gros que Solar n’a pas pris soin de lui comme il aurait du). Je vous laisse écoute et vous invite à venir célébrer avec nous, Gangstarr et Guru avec Dj Premier, Just Blaze et Alchemist le 14 mai @ l’élysée Montmartre.

Walter Mecca aka Dal-Gren is a French producer, emcee and singer (he is the one that did the video for Onra’s Long distance). His universe is really unique and this is what I love with this artist. Each time he releases something it’s something really new, something he never did before and you all know some artists kind of do the same all the time because it had worked once.
So Walter Mecca just released a new album, “Tonnerre“, I haven’t listen to the whole album yet but what I’ve listened to was great, a mix of cosmic keyboard, 80’s style, hip hop and funk/disco.
And the packaging is DOPE : VHS and USB package, 80’s style I told you!
Please support good music and buy this album, you will love it.

Walter Mecca aka Dal-Gren est un producteur, rappeur et emcee français. Je suis fan de son univers déjanté et de sa créativité sans cesse renaissante, chaque album est différent, ce qui est très appréciable et rare. Il vient de sortir un nouvel album “Tonnerre“, je n’ai malheureusement pas pu l’écouter encore mais le teaser et les morceaux que j’ai écouté sont très forts, un mixe entre funk, disco, hip hop, le style 80’s à la sauce 2010.
De plus Walter Mecca offre un packaging très original, une cassette VHS et une clef USB! Je vous conseille tous d’acheter cet album, originalité, qualité et découverte, que demander de plus!

You may all know now that I love José James’s voice and music a lot and this song is the reason why I like him a lot as an artist, his voice, his vibe, his energy. I like him in Jazz and “blues” music better than on an album like Blackmagic (that was well done tho). I think it’s where his voice reveals its beauty the best. Jef Neve is a great pianist as well, I’ve seen him on stage, he is amazing.
By the way I will post the videos of José James on stage, live in Paris, soon.

Vous devez tous savoir maintenant à quel point j’adore José James et cette chanson est clairement l’une des raisons pour lesquelles j’adore cet artiste. Cette énergie, cette voix, cette puissance. Je le préfère largement dans un répertoire jazz ou un brin “blues” que dans son registre nu soul de Blackmagic (qui est très réussi mais je ne retrouvais pas cette puissance). Je pense que ce répertoire est celui qui révèle le mieux la beauté de sa voix. De plus Jef Neve est un très bon pianiste, j’ai eu la chance de le voir sur scène, il est excellent.
Ceci me fait penser, je posterai bientôt les videos que j’ai prise lors du dernier concert de José James à Paris, très bientôt.

I just found this on yesyesyall.org (Man, I love this blog!), I loved the cover they posted (I think they made it, beautiful) with this quote of D’angelo “Smack your ass, pull your hair“. As a big fan of D’angelo I was curious to see what was that. It’s a beattape by Chris P (I didn’t find anything about him on google unfortunately) made of D’angelo’s music only and as Chris P said “One Prince sample and one Digital Underground sample (both to enhance the particular beat), and ?uest’s drums from erykah’s “booty” on two beats. Other than that, it’s ALL D’angelo samples.“. This is dope I like it a lot, it’s not new but I never heard it before. I hope you enjoy it!

Je viens juste de trouver ça sur yesyesyall.org (Ce blog est excellent!) avec une citation de D’angelo, Smack your ass, pull your hair“. En tant que fan de D’angelo ça m’a interpellé, j’ai donc écouté. C’est en fait une beattape de Chris P (inconnu jusque là et je n’ai malheureusement rien trouvé sur internet) composé de sample de D’angelo comme Chris P le dit lui même, “Un sample de Prince et un de Digital Underground et les drums de Questlove prient sur le morceau “Booty” d”Erykah badu. May you all have a wonderful Valentine’s Day. For this occasion, everybody made some special VD’s mix. I’ve choose a special one by the beatmaker Dela, “The Broken heart’s mix“. Not that I dislike VD because I’m surrounded by love from my family and friends. It’s a day to celebrate love however this day may remind some of us of our broken hearts, so if you’re one of us, here is a mix for you. Stay positive thought, love is here somewhere.

Bonne Saint Valentin à tout le monde, pour cette occasion tout le monde a fait un mix spécial Saint-Valentin. Pour ma part, j’ai choisi un mix bien spécial l’anti saint-Valentin mix par le beatmaker Dela, “The Broken heart’s mix“. Non que je déteste la Saint-Valentin car je suis entourée d’amour, de la part de ma famille et de mes amis. C’est un jour pour célébrer l’amour mais ce genre d’événement nous rappelle nos “Broken hearts”, si vous êtes comme nous, voici donc ce très bon mix. Cependant, restez positif, l’amour est là quelque part.

Friday night Omar was performing in Sannois, Parisian’s suburb, in a little place I like, EMB, where I already saw Amp Fiddler, years ago. It was the first time I saw Omar and I was really happy. The energy was kind of slow at the beginning but ended up really nicely, on some classics joints with lot more energy. I had a great time with my friends enjoying the performance. Omar is def one of the greatest nu soul artists.

Vendredi soir quelques jours après son concert au New Morning, Omar donnait un concert à Sannois, à l’EMB, petite salle de banlieue que j’aime beaucoup, j’avais gardé de bon souvenirs du concert de Amp Fiddler. C’était la première fois que je voyais Omar en concert, j’étais donc très heureuse. Le concert à commencé assez doucement, peut-être trop doucement à mon goût mais l’énergie a monté petit à petit pour finir merveilleusement bien, dansant et sur les classiques du Monsieur. Très bon moment passé avec mes amis, comme j’aime, en musique. Omar est vraiment l’un des meilleurs artistes nu soul et malheureusement pas aussi populaire qu’il le mériterait.
