Cover Art + Mixed by Darien Victor Birks of Flwrpt
The blog of Darien Victor Birks is one of my favorite. Between the posts original/sample, the posts about some good funk and soul with a review + a design critic of the cover and for sure his good mixes… It’s just a great pleasure to visit his blog and see what’s new on it. So here is his last mix, special for the Autumn with a good design, I love the typo!

Yesterday, Saturday 17th Sa-Ra (actually Shafiq wasn’t here as writing in the flyer) was in Paris for a Free Your Funk event.
The great crew, Electric Wire Hustle went first. I couldn’t see it because I was driving everybody around (Dam-funk, Sa-ra and Peanut) but I get to see them a day before in a small club called Le Lup and I can tell that they are killing it ! A really good crew !
Then two go go dancers came following by Taz and Om’Mas with a bassist (Leon) and a pianist (Kojo) from London. Again I didn’t get to see the whole thing because I had to pick up Peanut Butter Wolf. I recorded what I was able to see, enjoy the videos !
Peanut Butter Wolf came after them for the “Stone Throw party“. He did a video dj mix, really really good, I loved it ! Never seen that before! Dam-Funk, the boogie funk style went on stage with his red glasses to bless the stage with some good music!
It was a good evening with lot of good artists !
